Growth & Learning: Become an Intern
At World Wide Village (WWV), we believe in the importance of education and its impact to create sustainability among the Haitian people. We offer supervised Internships that provide a teaching and learning experience. The cost for our Haiti Internship Program is $800/mo and includes: housing, on ground transportation, food/beverage, translators and all project costs. There is a 2-3 month commitment for all WWV Internships. Some of the service areas interns may have a chance to work in include:
Mission Team Interns: Interns will have the opportunity to practice ministry and leadership skills while working with our service team members. Interns will have the opportunity to use project management and assistance skills while doing a wide range of WWV program activities- as listed above.
Education: Interns will help to assist in the communities and schools where WWV works to provide education. WWV Interns will have the opportunity to work with Haitian teachers, local pastors, parents and community leaders to insure that children are enrolled, attending and getting their educational needs met on a regular basis.
Housing Construction: Interns will partner with American and Haitian construction workers to help provide Haitian families with sustainable homes. With 600,000 families still living in tents, there is much hands-on training to provide to Haitian individuals in order to continue to impact lives and communities.
Media Liaison — Haiti: Interns will help capture footage – video and still – of mission team experiences, projects and recovery efforts in Haiti.
Community Relations — Haiti: Interns (Haiti) will help to assist with NGO relations and work as a relationship liaison to other Haitian non-profits, while also having the experience of soliciting in-country gift in kind.
Development/Marketing — US: Interns will have the opportunity to see how a non-profit organization operates and assist with community partnerships, event planning and sponsorship, foundation research and writing, social media and other innovative ideas.
